Became a IAS Officer first to complete your graduation and simultaneously read daily news paper improve your GK ,don’t miss news paper ,read YEAR BOOKS.,Work on ur basic subjects using NCERT as reference ,Work on Hindu paper.make few points daily form this paper, Do attend a good coaching classes,if required. Read only one good magazine from the competitive exam magazine.It is a long procedure.so always keep working on time & be active.YOJANA books will also help you.Never Get away from ur goal[i.e IAS]
Syllabus & exam Process:
The IAS Syllabus and other services like the IPS and Income Tax is the same, as it is a single exam conducted by UPSC and the syllabus is also set by the UPSC.
Three stages (Prelim, Mains & Interview). Announcement for Prelims Exam is usually announced in December every year. You can only apply for Prelim and if you succeed, then only can you appear for mains & after clearing it you will be called for an interview. The exam is a quite tough one. You will have to clear two papers in Prelims (Objective Type) out of which one is General Studies and other is of your choice from the list of subejcts approved by UPSC. The age limit is 21 – 30 with usual relaxation for SC, ST& OBC.
